It's burning hot out there, but there's plenty of ocean to cool down in. The other day, Hisashi took Kaede out for a splash. Low tide is the best time for a play, but depending on the stretch of beach, high tide is okay, too.

Hisashi came across this big jelly (well, big for our area) this evening while out with Kaede. It's not the kind that stings, but those nasty buggers have started showing up, too. Luckily, no blue bottles so far this year.

This symbol pops up all over Kamakura, from flags to manhole covers, which isn't terribly surprising since it's the city's seal. I caught a whole fluttering flurry of them at a festival at Kamakura Seaside Park in the spring.
