He wanted a photo of the new Hachimangu Dori/Wakamiya-oji sakura avenue, and I wanted a photo of Tsurugaoka Hachimangu's main building framed by a torii gate. I think mine turned out okay. I hope his did, too.
Back to the turtles. It's been incredibly rainy here, so no new pics as we've been stuck at home. But turtles are always a good thing.
I thought it was about time we had another fish photo. These guys live in a gorgeous pond outside a gorgeous soba restaurant. I have no clue how good the soba is, but their landscaping is fabulous.
Tsurugaoka Hachiman-gu has white pigeons. We thought they were pretty special, and it looked like at least one of them thought Kaede was, too.
Now, I knew this was a turtle, and I guessed that it was a "suppon", a Chinese soft-shelled turtle. But, I thought it would be more fun to let my imagination run wild.
