There's nothing like a bit of brilliant green to get a body pumped for spring. This verdant ground covering is from Kosoku-ji, a particularly be-gardened temple near Hase Station.
Photo of the Day: Boats in a Row
Boats all lined up—very satisfying.
Photo a Day: Now *That’s* a Door
If your aim is to keep power-hungry samurai from your abode, a door like this is the only way to go. This particular door is for the gate at Odawara Castle. The gate wall is thicker than I am tall, and made of huge stone blocks. It's pretty impressive.
Photo of the Day: Dripping Petals
Again wi the cherry blossoms... Here they are in individual petals, almost like water dripping off a tree.
Photo of the Day: Seen From Above

Photo of the Day: Sakura Pink
Another cherry blossom photo—I can't help it! They're everywhere! Today, our neighbour took us on a trip to Odawara Castle down the coast. The castle area is famous for all sorts of flowers—cherry, wisteria, iris, hydrangea, etc. Beautiful!

Photo of the Day: Candle Burning
A candle burns at Zeniarai Benten. Just a quick note today as we've happily got a very full house: Happy Easter

The plum trees just finished, but now the cherry and peach are in bloom, plus at least two or three other varieties of flowering trees. It's also got history. Okay—all the … Continue reading Photo of the Day: Gentle Curves
