A few weeks ago, Kaede and I went on a little walk along some back streets we’d yet to explore. We followed a sign for a temple into a little subdivision and came across Jokomyo-ji, one of the area’s oldest temples.
Luck was with us—statues that are only shown to the public three or so times a month were on display (no photographs allowed, unfortunately), and the caretaker gave us a nice talk on the temple’s history.
These little statues sat in a temple building without a “no photography” sign, so I snapped a quick pic. To see the other, fancier statues, you’ll just have to hope for luck like ours!
