Photo of the Day: Typhoon Prep

Typhoon # 11 is pouring its way through Japan right now, and though Kamakura isn’t in the storm’s direct path, it’s still going to get some wind, rain and wave action.

To keep their boats from getting washed away, the fishermen along our beach drag their boats up to street-level—and sometimes pretty much along the street. I was surprised to see they’d finished their boat prep on Tuesday morning, much earlier than usual.
