If you keep an eye on the ground as you walk down Yuigahama Dori (left side of the road if you’re heading towards Hasedera, right if you’re heading to Kamakura Station), you might just spot a few fish swimming behind some mesh.
Three fish swim in and out of the unagiyasan (eel restaurant) under the display (though I only caught the one in the photo). I’ve never been inside, but I imagine the pond continues. I hope the pond continues, at least, since there’s not much room for swimming outside.
At least they’re protected from neighborhood cats.
